Anyone else see a fare drop?

I have been looking a flights from ORD to IST almost daily for weeks now. Today the fares were down quite a bit. Turkish was $850.000, down from about $1085.00

Per Earnest Hemmingway the Fare also Rises...but

They drop them every Tues to match sales

and hike them back up.

If not booked after September they drop them big for late

October/Nov so it sometimes pays to wait to book the fall

FareCompare ... is one of the three cheapest days, the others are Tuesday and ...

Good luck!

The fare I was looking for (pdx-cdg) dropped $400. Unfortunately, we've already given up our Europe trip this year. I'm getting ready to buy for next year and am prepared to stalk airfares for May-June 2012. On the bright side, we were taking a goddaughter with us and now we'll take two goddaughters with us. We'll save money by consolidating into one trip and they'll have each other for company.
We're going to Hawaii instead. I'll go play in the ocean and cry away my frustration at not getting to Europe this year.

Well I decided to pull the trigger and booked it. Then today I saw a fab fare from Lufthansa which was about $600.00 less for the two of us. However the departure was B4 the ship arrived in port so you would have to add hotel, cab and food for one day as well as entertainment and cab fare the next day. Still even with that we could have saved about $300.00 give or take. Oh well. can't win them all. Anyway Turkish airlines, who we booked with is the only one with NS service to and from Chicago. :-)

You win some, you lose some. It could have been worse than $300, so you kind of won some. At least you're still going!

Nice way of looking at it. :-)

Hmmmm. Just saw today (not yesterday as I looked) that the prices for our flight from the Turkish airlines website was back to $2170.00 for 2. Interesting.
