Any news about airlines dropping Frequent Flyer miles ??

I was speaking to a friend of mine that travels a lot and he indicated that Continental was going to drop the unused FF points ?? I have well over 300,000 AMEX points also that i use with Delta and Continental...have any of you ever heard about this ??

Haven't heard of them enforcing the FF expiration rules. But I won't be surprised if they change their practice any moment. I'm sure you'll hear about it before they do expire.

Technically there is a CO OnePass rule about expiration but it has not been enforced. Some other airlines do enforce the rule.
If your points are with AmEx, no problem - they stay there (with AmEx) until you transfer them to the airline of your choice.

Seamus... what is the CO rule regarding the expiration of the FF miles ?

<i>If no mileage is deposited in your account for 18 consecutive months, your membership may be cancelled, and your miles may be forfeited. To keep your account active, you can earn mileage with a variety of airline, non-travel and shopping partners. Please visit the Earn Miles section of this site for a full list of earnings partners<i>

But they have not been enforcing it.

You can always buy one magazine if you need activity in your account with Delta.
