Any chance I can change this ticket?
OK, here's facts: I bought a ticket to Paris from a consolidator, onetravel.com. From MSY to ATL on Delta, then on to CDG on Airfrance. As luck would have it, I really need to change my dates. I called the consolidator who said a change would be $300 plus the difference in the price of the fare. Well, that is as much as I paid for the ticket originally. Is there any way to change this for a more reasonable amount? Would it be worth my calling the airline and trying to do it thru them? I don't have a legitimate reason to cancel and make a claim on my travel insurance. Any other ideas? I am in a heck of a mess! Thanks for any advice or info!

You can try calling, but I don't think the airline can help you. A $300 change fee + fare difference isn't that bad, to tell you the truth. That's the price one pays for getting a discount airfare, but at least they let you change it...

No. Nothing you can do.

Looked at the 'consolidator' you mentioned. Onetravel.com is not a consolidator. It is an online agency. FYI: The airline would have charged your $200 to change. By booking with an online agency , you got ripped by an extra $100.
I checked their prices to Paris..they are just published fares. I found better prices on my own than what onetravel listed. |
I would say that if the OP paid $300 for a round trip ticket they got some kind of discount. That does not appear to be current price right now!

to the contrary: THere was a 392 published fare back in January
