Just to clarify:

TPA-LA

AA)-HKG-JNB-HKG-LA

CX)-MIA-TPA(AA) = 140K - that's the expensive ticket!
JNB-NBO = 35K BA Business
HKG-SIN = 45K CX Buisness

It's 200,000 miles now for a FC from N. America to Africa and travel must be transatlantic only.

Well, what I meant was that if you do the same route I'm doing it will be 2 different awards, US to Asia2 is 135K and Asia2 to Africa is 140K so actually it's 275K total. What you are talking about is the cheaper, forced version of US to Africa going through Europe, with the second leg being on British or Swiss. Not bad exerience, still 60K miles more and not as exciting as having a stopover in Asia

The 140K miles award was IMHO one of the best award tickets available.

WOW! What a dream trip! Two totally different environments in Africa and then Hong Kong and Singapore - unbelievably awesome.
