Amst-Spain - enough time to leave the airport?
Hi,
I'm flyng KML to Spain, but I have a connection in Amsterdam. My flight's supposed to arrive at 15:25 in Shiphol Airport and the next one, to Spain, is supposed to leave at 18:20. Is it too risky to try and get to know a bit of the city?
=D

Well, not even checking out the location of the airport in relation to the city, if you arrive at 1525 (ha), leave the plane 1535 (haha), retrieve your bag, get through Customs maybe by 1600. If no luggage you would have to check in by at least 1720 for your 1820 flight. So checkin and go through security, you might have between 1600 and 1720 if you are INCREDIBLY lucky which is one hour and 20 minutes to leave airport and get to city center and back to airport. No unfortunately you don't have enough time. Airport is one of the best in the world--have a good time there.

No, you won't have to retrieve your bags - they will be checked through to Spain. B ut you will have to go through immigration. Passport control happens at your first Schengen entry and customs at your final destination.
But you really don't have time to do much.

I too think the time is too short; you need to take a train to reach the city center.
Some years ago they had a small high-quality art museum in the terminal; perhaps that would be something you wouldwant to see.
