AMS-transfer from KLM to AF
I know AMS is a wonderful airport but I haven't been there in ages and soon have a trip where I have to transfer between KLM and AF-are they close to each other or not and do I have to take some sort of transport? Thx.

We just changed planes (and airlines) in AMS and the airline gave us 1 hour and 45 min between flights and we barely made the plane. We had to walk a long way and pass through 3 checkpoints. Our luggage did not make the flight and we didn't get it for over 24 hours. I would never go through AMS again without about 2-1/2 hours between flights. We were going from Malev Hungarian Airlines to KLM. KLM was our main airline and they were the ones who said this time was okay.

I've got a bit over 2hrs if on time and then I have to transfer again at CDG(which I've heard is a terrible place to transfer but it's on the same airline at least) so I'm not really expecting my luggage to make it but I got a very low mileage award so am fairly happy with my itinerary. The outbound is more impt. to me-they can deliver my luggage if it doesn't make it though it will be a hassle at LAX.
