Alaska air into JFK..how far to taxi into NYC
 

Senior lady very active able to walk several city blocks with out trouble. However, concerned about distances in JFK..
Decided to take taxi to hotel in Manhattan ( know it is expensive) but can afford it,.
Flying in on Alaska Air...will request WC asset to baggage area.
Not sure how to arrange to get to Taxis?
Many airports I have been thru have "ground" transportation close to the baggage claim...JFK ?

No worries! The taxi pick-up point is just outside the baggage claim area. The wheelchair attendant (SkyCap) will take you there after you get your bags. Just be sure to give him/her a nice tip as they depend on tips for their wages.
