Airline Help Please

Hello,
Pretty new to booking the flights, never done it alone before...
Going to Mexico in May, from Boston.
When using orbitz or something similar, cheapest flights are US Airways, AirTran, and Spirit in that order.
I've heard awful things about using US Airways through Philly connection as it's often delayed.
And I have no idea about Air Tran and Spirit.
Should I book US Airways for $350 a person (not including luggage) or wait a few weeks so that maybe Jet Blue comes down a little or some other airline?
Thank you for all advice/suggestions!

Any flights connecting through the east coast are delayed more frequently than not. Air traffic problems are the main cause. Philly is no better or worse than Newark, JFK etc. I would allow plenty of connection time whoever you fly with, especially when there is little choice if you miss your next flight.

AFAIK JetBlue does not fly to Mexico City so no point of waiting on them to come down on their fares.

I'm sorry, I didn't clarify enough...we're going into Cancun.
And yeah I was going to make enough time for layover just in case.
So I guess I'll just wait a week and buy whatever's cheapest? Airline shouldn't matter? Thanks again!

I don't know why but I was sure you posted Mexico City... sorry, my mistake.

Anyways, AA has a fare of ~$340 to CUN before taxes. perhaps you should look into that?

Good luck!

What dates?

jetBlue is having a fare sale now, $139 each way for BOS-CON and they do offer nonstops.

We're going 5/13 - 5/20...I saw the jetblue sale but it wasn't for these dates, and for my dates it's spiked super high right now...
that's why I was thinking of waiting and hoping they have a sale similar to this again?

jetBlue doesn't have the nonstops on those days, so no advantage there. I'd prefer them over your other choices, but not at the current price.

The USAir stops are in Charlotte outbound, PHL coming back (I'm looking at travelocity and the fare is $331 all in). Continental via Houston at $329.

Those are pretty good fares. Considering that there is no nonstop scheduled for your travel dates, I wouldn't wait for jetBlue.
