Airfare for Newark-Orlando in December
I'm looking at round trip ticket prices for Orlando leaving Dec.23 and returning Jan. 1 from Newark. The cheapest midday flight is $523 from Jetblue. Please help me decide - is this a good price for this season or should I wait for a better price. I need to purchase 8 tickets for this trip. Many thanks for your help!

Hm, prime holiday season. It's early right now, but prices may not come down.
If you have to go on those days at that particular time point, you may want to spend a little more ($698) and fly Continental in First Class. On some flights, like CO492that departs 12:10pm, it's on a 757-200 with international BusinessFirst seats.
These are "A" fares that are fully refundable. If you find something cheaper, then just buy those and refund these.

Thanks for your replies. I've never booked different airlines for a trip. Will check this option out.
rkkwan, is the fully refundable fare good only for First class in Continental? I'm looking for least expensive non stop flight as it's only a 2 1/2+ hour flight.

You can also buy refundable coach fares, but they're around $600 anyways. Why not spend another $100 and have big seats?
But the key is to buy refundables. That's assuming you really want midday non-stops. Then check often and hope the fares go down.

I'd be very very upset to spend $600 to fly 2.5 hours domestic in coach.
I'd still be pretty upset to spend $700 to fly 2.5 hours in domestic FC.
I'd feel slightly better to spend $700 to fly 2.5 hours in CO's BusinessFirst.
But that's just me.

Given the lack of flexibility in the plan (must be those dates, nonstops, mid-day), I would want to buy the tix now. Not happy about paying ~$518 but flying on jetBlue is pretty decent in coach. It comes out to $4150 and the change fee is only $30 per person (or $25 if booked online). Versus $4800 or $5400 on CO.
OTOH, Continental does have a better schedule.
