Airfare FLL to BOS
I am planning to fly to Boston June 18 - 25 from Fort Lauderdale.
Song has airfare of $175 roundtrip. Is this a good fare for that time of year, or does anyone think it will go down after spring break? |
I usually book flights no sooner than 6-8 weeks prior to departure for best rates unless
1. You must absolutely have a particular flight [day, time, flight #, etc] and you can't risk not having it. 2. You see an airfare that is too good to be true. 3. You see a price you can live with and won't obsess if the airfare drops another $30 in the next few weeks. From my local airport anything around $175 to anywhere qualifies as #2 and #3 but you are in a larger market. Can you live with it - buy it. Will you obsess about cheaper flights - wait until early April to check. Will you kick yourself if fares actually go up [which can happen if demand increases] - buy it. |
If I were you, I would take the $175 ($79 each way) roundtrip. In my experience, airfares from the northern to southern east coast don't get much less than that. They generally only are less than that during a slow time, which doesn't really apply for you. I have found that sometimes, waiting can cause you to end up taking a much higher fare than the one you weren't sure about. If you are willing to pay $175 and won't lose any sleep about the fare coming down, I would just go ahead and book it.

I fly Boston to FLL or PBI several times a year - my advice is to take that fare. You may save a few dollars if some airline has a special sale - but it might only be $25 or so less and could go up more than that.
