Airbus on international travel?
I've never flown on an airbus plane, but am going to this summer (U.S. Airways from east coast to France). Are these planes okay? And safe?
|
Hi

The Airbuses that US Air fly on the transatlantic routes to Europe are the A330's and are perfectly safe. I think in coach ( assume you are flying in coach) you will have your own tv screen on the back of the seat in front of you.

Have a great time

So, are you implying that non-US planes are not safe??? Whether the plane you're flying in is safe or not depends ENTIRELY on USAirways, not on Airbus.

Buy travel insurance. USAirways is in bad financial difficulties.

I flew on American Airbus jets to and from London last Thanksgiving. It wasn't too long after the Airbus crashed in NY, and I was a bit nervous. But I really enjoyed my flights. I found the Airbus jets really comfortable and nice, and they seemed more quiet than other jets. I wouldn't hesitate to fly on another Airbus jet.

They are extremely safe and reliable. Don't get nervous about the term airbus. I have taken them to London, Athens, Rome, Madrid and find them to be very smooth and quiet as well.

Thanks to all who replied. In reading about the U.S. Airways airbus, it looks like they have 1"-2" more legroom than my other flight choice (which was a Boeing 767, or something like that), and I like the idea of individual TV's to occupy our time since it's a long flight. My children will like that! I've flown U.S. Airways before and liked them, so I'm getting excited now!
