AirAsia not accepting payment

Hi there,

I am trying to book flights on AirAsia, and at first Bank of America blocked the transactions suspecting fraudulent activity, but I spoke with my bank and they lifted the restriction, but AirAsia is not accepting any payment. I've tried two different cards. Has anyone had this problem and have suggestions of how to book tickets successfully?

I have had few problems booking with Air Asia in maybe 50 flights. You can try calling but in my experience, the wait can be up to an hour. If you do get through they are great at resolving problems.

Alternatively, try using their App. It seems sometimes seems to work a lot smoother that the main website.

You could also try clearing the cache on your computer as that can sometimes cause issues or use another browser.

I experienced several airlines which simply do not accept cards from other countries. My workaround is to use an OTA with Expedia being my preference because they seem to have every airline I need and I've only had good experiences with them. Travelocity or Orbitz may also work for you.

From what I can tell, the US phone number only deals with Asia X, but I am trying to fly Thai AirAsia. I tried all of the other tricks and nothing seems to work. I even live chatted with AirAsia, but all they said was to try again and send them a screenshot, so I'm not too hopeful about that. The flights on travel websites like expedia don't have the option to not booked bags, and I want to just have a carry on. The last thing is two of the flights I want are island transfers, for example Chiang Mai to Koh Samui, but you have to book these through AirAsia. Any more suggestions?

perhaps a travel agent??

<<The flights on travel websites like expedia don't have the option to not booked bags>> Not when I look at Expedia, I see a reminder to add baggage at check-out, which suggests the default is no baggage. AirAsia provide a link to Expedia on their website.

As Air Asia is a budget airline, no travel agent will work with them. There have been lots of threads about booking Air Asia on the Asia board. I'd suggest you go there and do a search.

I ended up putting a travel notice for a few days "in Thailand" on my cards and that worked. Hopefully if others have the same problem this helps.

@Kathie: Several budget airlines do work with travel agents (on and offline). Easyjet, Norwegian, Southwest etc. AirAsia works with Expedia.

You can book air Asia through Expedia.... I have had this problem before, I cleared out my cache and switched to chrome, one time that worked, another time I had to use a different card... another time I did what you did and called my cc company...
