air san to bos code share
I am confused. I want to use my AA miles on a flight SAN to BOS.
Alaska Airlines and American Airlines both listed on itasoftware. Alaska times are the same but the price is less. I know they are codeshare partners. How do I book this on my AAdvantage? do I go to AA award page? At the airport is it an Alaska Airlines flight? or do I go to the AA checkout?. Thank you. |
I would try to book it on the AA site. I'm a UA flier and I book partner airlines using miles all the time on their site, so I'm guessing you can do the same on AA. You would check in with Alaska.

Assuming this is the new nonstop that Alaska is starting at the end of this month, you would redeem AA miles by going to the AA website. AA allows online booking for awards using some partners, of which Alaska is one.
At the airport you will check in at the Alaska Airlines counter. Before that, though, to select seats you'll have to phone American and ask for the Alaska record locator (they'll be different) then log onto Alaska's website and choose your seat using the Alaska locator. |
Great explanations...thanks...Lois

When in doubt about airline points, phone the airline rewards number, even if it adds an extra fee. Agents may find availabilities the website doesn't show. I speak as a rueful member of Delta's program. I like the airline's service but the website for rewards is an exercise in frustration.
