Air Pacific Business Class ~ Do seats recline?
Whew! Thanks to lots of Fodorite's advice, I was able to book FOUR (yipeee!) Business Class tickets using AA miles on an Air Pacific flight from LAX to Auckland, NZ (via Nadi, Figi). Just like everyone told me, no luck on Qantas...not even for TWO tickets in Business/First.
Now we're just curious...do the seats in Business Class on Air Pacific recline with a foot rest? You know...sorta like a recliner at home? Or do they just recline like a regular airline seat? I've check Air Pacific's website and they just say there's a 57" seat pitch. I'm a dummy on this one...not sure what that means. |
I've never flown with the airline but I have been told that the seats are very similar to AA's old business class seats. They do recline but do not go flat. There is a footrest. Individual screens. Not the best business class product but for such a long trip you will be glad that you are sitting up front.
New Zealand is wonderful. Have a great trip! |

offers 60 minute access for 60 minutes. T-Mobile also has pre-paid cards. I believe they are sold at 7-Elevens, Best-Buys, T-Mobile shops and I'm sure many other places. T-Mobile partners with most major providers all over the world in case they don't have their own hot spot in the area, but there is an additional roaming charge to use the other services. I believe T-Mobile hot spots include McDonalds, Starbucks, many hotels, airports, etc... |
Pitch is one of more standardized way to describe longitudinal room one has on an aircraft. It is the distance between one particular point of your seat and the the same point in the row ahead of you, or and row behind you.
In general, 55-57" indicate old "cradle"-style business class seats. |
I flew Air Pacific during Christmas to Fiji and the business class was three rows in front of me. The seats are much wider, they recline, but do not go flat. Air Pacific is leasing a 747-400 from Singapore Airlines. My return flight from Fiji was delayed 18 hours but they put everyone up in hotels with breakfast and luch vouchers. (Mechanical Problems) They had a good selection of movies on individual television screens. No first class--only business and only about 26 seats at the very front of the plane.
