Air NZ flight to Houston connecting to United flight to Orlando.
Just booked the above flight for April 2020. Booked through Air NZ and all on one ticket. We have a two hour connection time in Houston to get through immigration an customs and then find the Orlando flight. I have been looking on the net about whether or not you go out of security and therefore have to do it again. Some sites say you do, others sound as though you do not. A bit confused, any advice appreciate.

If you're really pressed for time go to the front of the line and ask very nicely if you can go through, or ask a TSA agent. As best I can recall, you will always reclear security after clearing US customs. I'm pretty sure you will encounter that when arriving into most if not all US cities.

Spouse just did this very thing in Houston, connecting from an international flight to a domestic. You must clear Immigration and customs, then throw your luggage onto the belt and it will be put on your connecting flight. Just make sure your luggage is tagged all the way to Orlando. You'll still have to clear it, but won't have to deal with it beyond that.
Then head back through security.
Time wise, I think you'll probably be fine (especially since IME United rarely leaves on time!)
