air canada business class

looking at using mileage awards on United from London to SFO and what is offered is Air Canada. I have never flown this airline. Any comments on their Business class London to Calgary and Calgary to SFO.

I've not flown Air Canada Business but when I have this sort of question I go look at what the Points Guy has to say. Very comprehensive reviews and not a 'wonky' as Flyertalk.

This one is of LHR to YYZ (I don't think he has one to Calgary). https://thepointsguy.com/2017/07/air...siness-review/

But onemileatatime does https://onemileatatime.com/review-ai...ess-class-777/

Just speaking for me, I would not use Air Canada, as they seriously f@cked up a flight from LHR to Toronto to Boston a few years ago. Flight was very late leaving LHR, a "mechanical problem" was the excuse, very late into Toronto and huge long lines, so missed the flight to Boston. They put another woman and her young daughter and me into a really crappy motel, miles out in the sticks. It had bullet proof glass round the reception desk, and was in what seemed a very dodgy part of town. More long lines n the morning, and missed the flight yet again. They did eventually put me onto a flight to Manchester NH, which was ok. Luckily I live where I wouldn't have to ever use Air Canada.

We flew Air Canada business class from Toronto to Narita. Overall it was a good experience. The food was good enough, the in-flight entertainment was fine and the onboard services very good. I think their seats are a little bit narrow and storage space is a bit limited compared to other business class carriers I have been on but overall it was decent.
We flew in from Chicago to Toronto and due to weather missed our connection to Tokyo by Air Canada but they put us up in a pretty nice hotel and we had food vouchers which were adequate. Their amenity kits for an overnight stay was really excellent.
however the ground support staff both in Chicago and Toronto was just rather mediocre. The gate staff in Chicago were frankly terrible and only when I raised my voice did they start to show some polite and civil behavior. Prior to that they acted like they did not want to be bothered. In Toronto we were given a lot of misinformation about where to go and whether or not we had to reclaim our bags. As it turned out the luggage was forwarded on the next flight so we did not have to pick them up. There was a lady there who acted as if she could not be bothered and seemed annoyed that I was asking questions and acted like she would just rather have me go away. However there was another woman who had just closed her line and saw how upset I was and she most graciously gestured for me to come to her. She reopened the line and took care of our connections for the next day including boarding passes. After that we were fine and I must say that the Maple Leaf AC lounge in Toronto was very nice.

A few months ago I booked a saver award United Airlines from Chicago to New Delhi. We fly back to Chicago from Jelly on Air Canada and I think it should be fine. We fly back to Chicago from Jelly on Air Canada and I think it should be fine.

Syktrax rates them a 4* carrier.

The two reviews linked above are both for LHR-YYZ on 777-300ER.

It looks like AC uses a 787-9 for LHR-YYC. At least that is the case on Canada Day this year.

The 787 should be even better.
Our return from Delhi in on a 787. I hope it’s all it’s cracked up to be.
