Air Berlin

Has anybody had any experience with this airline? How are they overall? Are they strict about overweight luggage? Anything I need to be aware when flying Air Berlin?

Thanks.

In my experience (intra-Europe only), Air Berlin is pretty much indistinguishable from anyone else in coach.

In my experience, they are relatively strict about overweight luggage, but most European airlines are. I would note that they do have a weight limit on carry-ons, but I have no idea if it is enforced.

If you are concerned about overweight baggage, then I would consider their Topbonus Service card, which is €59:

Have flown them several times and as TG says, they are quite strict with overweight luggage as well as carry-on size. Other than that, I really like them.....on-time, clean and professional.

I received free food on two of their flights and they were short flights. Very professional service.

I only have short-haul experience with them.
The seating appears more cramped than on competitors such as LH.
They advertise themselves and are widely regarded as a low-cost carrier which is a classification I do not share. Price-wise they are pretty much comparable to other full-fare carriers, unless one really does have some luck.
Their off-board service is highly questionable in my experience.
In fact I refuse to fly them.
