Aiports in Paris

Woin tested for you.... the airports.
And I thought I'd give you the pros and cons of airports.

CDG (Charles De Gaulle - pronounce Sharle der Goal) :
international. Reached via RER B. Term 1 and 2 on the same line. 10 €.
One hour top from Paris. (North West - or more west than north).
Easy to find your way, whatever people say. Well organized. Lots of airlines.
Lots of shops, inside and outside security.
Treat terminal 2F like another airport, you have to take a shuttle and the terminal looks like some refugee camp (luxurious version, ok but still). Harldy anything there as shops.

ORY (Orly pronounce the 'r' like in TigerrrrrrRrrrr -> that one 'R')
Mostly European flights. Also reached via RER B - but the other end (south). Stop at Antony, go through some hassle to get on Orlyval, term South and West. 1 hour from center too. 10 €
Smaller. Less shops outside and inside. I like the restaurant in Orly Sud, where I indulge with hamburgers (yes, don't say it, I like hamburgers, but never as a main for dinner (french etiquette, you see)).

BAV (beauvais - pronounce beau vay).
Mostly Ryanair. Not reachable. Er, yes via metro, porte maillot, then shuttle. 17 € + Metro.
The shuttle can be purchased upon arrival. hardly more than on-line. lots of shuttles during the day. It took me 5 minutes wait + 1 h 15 to go to Porte Maillot. From Porte Maillot you are still about 30 min from center.
Airport looks like a circus tent in the middle of nowhere. Very very small. I didn't see shops.

I have no prob with either ORY or CDG and would need to be paid to go back via BAV.
Helpful ?

Great reasons to avoid Orly if taxi is the only option one has.

Good assessments Woin.

I have never had a problem at CDG , so always expect to each time we use it because people complain about it so much, but we think its fine , not beautiful ( like the new section at the airport in Barcelona) but servicable.
