After Christmas discounts

I tried to find this in the archives, but was unsuccessful.

Generally, when do the prices go down after Christmas? I know this is an art and not a science, but I may have to go there as close to New Year's as I can.

Thanks.

I wouldn't expect a drop this year. Beginning in the fall, airlines will be grounding hundreds of aircraft and furloughing thousands of pilots and flight attendants. Supply will be down and demand will remain the same causing prices to increase.

In the past, the week after New Years, till the end of March. Will that happen this year? The only thing I can tell you for certain, is that I will not exceed the 6'1" stature I currently enjoy, nor will I be heavier than 160 lbs.

Can you fly on Christmas Day?

<can you fly on Christmas Day>

Most airlines have flights that day and every day of the year.

sunshine - I agree with the others and would add that the week between Christmas and New Years is a BIG travel period so don't count on discounts.

Thanks for your help. I have to leave Cairo (my home) & go to Seattle after New Year's,so Christmas is out. Good idea otherwise.

dfr4848, I think Suze meant is it possible for you (Carolyn) to fly on Christmas day and not do planes fly on Christmas day.

sunshine - ah, could be. Just didn't read it that way the first time.
