Aer Lingus

Travelling for first time with aer lingus what are they like?
Going long haul do I need earpieces for films-do they show any? also what's the food like?

I thought aer lingus was fine. they give you ear phones, and free guinness. The food is the same as the rest of the airlines. dollar for dollar, its the best value for trans-atlantic travel. Thats my opinion.

My mom and I flew Aer Lingus in early December from Los Angeles to Dublin nonstop. The flight over leaves around 5pm and was fine since it was a night flight.
The flight back to LAX though seemed VERY long since we left at 11am and it was a day flight the entire 11.5 hours!
The foos was fine for the mostpart, except I had some stomach problems a few hours after eating the morning snack of cheese and meat, but that passed within a day.
The service was great, the flight attendants were very effecient and nice and quickly responded if you had any questions.
Overall, a great airline and I would fly again.
Hope this helps.
