Aegean Airlines - Buyer Beware
 

They will gladly take your money for a ticket and say that you can have a small refund and then not even refund that. I have never seen such a difficult procedure. Things must be bad in Greece when a major airline like this will not perform a small service like a partial refund.

When we used Aegean Airlines a couple of years we were pleased but they appear to follow the SWest airline model. Refund no, credit yes. But you knew that going in so why expect a refund?

Things must be really bad in the US. None of the major airlines will issue a refund. Unless you buy a full fare/refundable ticket that is.

Airlines in the US will issue refunds under many circumstances, such as cancellations and schedule changes, upon request. And not only for full fare tickets. It is required by law.

Of course, they put that in the small print and prefer to issue credit and, for whatever reason, I think more people take the credit rather than request the refund.

You are right, NFZ, but we don't know the circumstances of the OP. I was under the impression that the passenger decided to cancel the trip but we don't know.

Got a refund from Delta due to a down grade credited to my credit card that took only 2 weeks!! Also got a $200 US credit for future flight. Never expected any compensation but am very grateful. Not all things turn out bad all the time..
