advice?
 

I just called delta to try and redeem my skymiles into two business class seats. They can get me out but not back at this point. They have two seats from JFK-Amsterdam-NBO on 1/3. But they don't have any flights back from the 13th-17th. What gives? Any advice? I saved the other flight for 48 hours. But what should I do?

The flights are delta and then KLM.

You could possibly book a coach class award ticket back then monitor for business class availability and the chance to upgrade. If you absolutely can't stand the thought of having to fly that long haul back in coach under ANY circumstances, then maybe that's not a good option for you, but it's probably what I would do in your shoes. You would always have the option of cancelling entirely.

Call Delta back and see if one of the other Sky Team partners (Air France) has availability. Also, Kenya Airways was just added to Sky Team. See if they're able to book award seats yet.

Kenya Airways isn't available for award redemption (yet). Only option to/from NBO using DL Skymiles right now is KLM.

If they can't get you back from NBO, check JRO or EBB. If available, confirm that then keep checking periodically to see if NBO-AMS opens up. If not, just buy a separate NBO-JRO or NBO-EBB ticket.
