AA Platinum flying Turkish- Can I use First Class Check-in

Hi, I'm AAdvantage platinum and I will be flying this week on Turkish Airlines with an American Airlines Ticket (code share). Can I check-in at the first class desk like I would at AA? I'm flying JFK-IST. Thanks!

Turkey is not a Oneworld member and in fact they're joining Star Alliance soon. I doubt if they'll let you check in at the business counter (I don't think TK has first class) if you're flying in economy. I suppose you can try it; worst thing that happens is they send you to the back of the other line.

Thanks Gardyloo. Since I am not checking a bag I hope they have check in kiosks at JFK as that will make it quick and easy. You're right about Star Alliance and you can only earn AAdvantage miles on Turkish until March 31st.

Didn't Turkish Airlines used to be a One World member? Or is my memory failing me. :-(

No. Yes. ;)

(They had numerous codeshare arrangements with AA.)
