AA: More Room in Coach?

I'm flying an AA 777 NY to London in June.
Is it true that there is really more room in coach? AA promises I'll notice a difference! Question: The AA Website says the seat pitch varies from 33 to 35 inches? Anyone know which rows have 35? Is it just the bulk head and exit rows? Thanks for your help.

While it's true that AA has MRTC, I hope you are not expecting business class space. Don't forget, the pitch is 33-35" in coach, which on the average gives you about 1.5" more room between seats in comparison to other major airlines. If you look at a ruler 1.5" does not look that impressive. Now that said, yes, it does improve your comfort just a bit. The best coach seats on the AA 777 are row 31 A,B and H,J. Unfortunately these could only be reserved by AA elites, but on occasion, they also put in for an upgrade and if it clears those seats open up at the airport. Get there early and try to snag on of these. The seats to avoid is row 28 A,B,H,J, as they have limited recline.
Rest of the plane is about equal.
Enjoy your trip!

I have been flying only AA for ten years and definitely noticed a difference when they added more space. I will also agree that the seats with most leg room are bulkhead and exit rows.

Those few inches make a big difference especially if you fly a daytime flight from NYC to London when sleeping is not necessary. You feel no where as closed in by that extra space. It's still hard for me to get so comfortable that I can sleep well on the overnight trips.

Seatguru.com will tell you which rows have the most room, and which seats to avoid.

My FA attend buddy tells me that even tho row 31 a/b/h/j are designated exit rows with loads of stretch room, the restroom crowd lingers there while waiting.Since there are only 4 lavatories, and the forward 2 are across from row 28 a/b and h/j there is a crowd all nite long with a full flight. He also tells me that row 28a/b h/j recline fully but are labeled undesirable because of being right across from the LAV.IMHO, I would sacrifice a little bit a room for a lot of quiet.

While I don't know the specifics on any given seat, I swear by AA 777s. I believe they are as comfortable as you will get in coach. No, I am not paid by AA, nor do I work for them. However, I am tall and my rear end is not small, so every inch counts

Thank you all for your advice. Seems that when it comes to Economy, the American 777 is going to be about as good as it gets. What pleases me most is, not only the legroom , but that the seats are over an inch wider than most Economy Seats. Every little bit helps!

Hi Flyer,
I took the AA 777 JFK-London flight in January. The extra couple of inches makes a difference!! As another poster said above, check out www.seatguru.com as it will help you pick the best seats.

Recently I flew form Detroit to Vegas and back on AA. The increase in legroom was appreciated given the length of the flights involved.

I checked seatguru.com and, as expected,
the exit row seats in Row 31 are considered "the best." Assuming they will not be available, does anyone have a second choice. I have heard that there is less legroom in the front of economy than the back--something to do with them taking away space when they enlarged business class. Can anyone confirm this? Thanks.
