AA LHR to LAX
Im flying to LAX with some pals on a 777 and have bulkhead seats row 30 efg as I need the extra legroom.
I was wondering, is the IFE in these seats in the arm reast or on the bulkhead wall opposite. Is there much more room in these seats in general? Coming back we go via ORD to MAN and are on the 767 in seats 10 HJ, again any one view on these having the extra legroom? |
The video screen comes out from the armrest, which cannot be lifted up. And worse, AA still has a big screen on the bulkhead of their 777s, at least from photos on airliners.net. If you have really really long legs, then maybe they are worth trouble. Otherwise...
Seatguru.com likes 10HJ on the 763. |
I am tall, have really long legs, and avoid bulkhead seats because I want to be able to stretch my legs straight. From what seatguru says it looks like 30G might be ok, but if I had 30E or 30F I would definitely try to change it, and not because they are center seats but because they don't have foot room. On the 763, 10ABHJ might be ok because of the foot cutouts that webflyer mentions.

regarding the 763, it is seatguru that mentions the foot cutouts, not webflyer

Hi, thanks for the info. 2 of us are 5ft8 so think we should be ok in the middle seat and 3rd is 6ft so he can have the aisle seat. I need the leg room as I have MS and need to be able to stretch my legs during the flight.

At the airport ask for row 31 AB or HJ. If you could only get one of these, take it, and give it to the person that needs it the most. About 5' of legroom. The best Y seats on that plane.
On the return, ask for row 21 AB or HJ. Once again these have the best legroom. Not as good as the 777 but very comfortable. AA elites can reserve these at the time of reservation, but many of them request an upgrade so it's possible to grab these great seats at the airport if they become available. Early airport arrival may help. If you post the dates I could check how these rows look right now. Have a great trip! |
Thanks for the seat tips. Called AA, as I have a slight mobility disability, they said they cannot give us the exit row seats. They did say there should be sufficient room in the seats that we have been allocated.

Don't forget to bring $5 for each beer.

Picking up a car when we get there so beer free.. well thats the plan anyhows!
I know I asked, but to confirm, in all the 3 seats, (efg) they all have the IFE in the arm rests? Just been wondering cos of the screen in front and on other sites they only seem to mention the IFE 31 AB HJ which we cant get. All repies appreciated. |
Yes, on the 777 you will have IFE in your arm rests. There will be about 6-7 movies but they do run in loops. New loop starts about every 2.5 hours. It also has music and a live flight map.
On the 767 it's communal screen only, but you do have music channels to pick from. |
