AA International Flights??

I will be flying on a 16 hour American airlines flight in economy. On a Boeing 777-300ER I think. How good and comfortable is the flight? I've read so many posts complaining about the old planes, and small uncomfortable seats. I'm kind of worried now!

The 777-300 is a new plane. However, the seating in economy is 3x4x3 instead of 3x3x3, so expect two narrow isles.

It's like any other US airline: fairly uncomfortable but not at all unendurable. I've done it and almost always prefer a non US airline.

I have flown many overseas flights on AA in coach. It's not fun but the flight is part of the adventure. Get an aisle seat if you can so you can get up often.

Consult seatguru for specs on your seat.

I fly AA internationally several times a year. For me, 16 hours in a regular coach seat is hard to take. If I were you, I would spend a few extra dollars and get one of the Main Cabin Extra seats. These have more spacing between the rows and it makes a big difference.

As P_M said, I would try to get an aisle, too. Also, as sparkchaser mentioned, go to seatguru.com, go to AA, go to 777-300 and view the seating.

@volcrew I've already booked tickets on economy, is it possible to change to the main cabin extra seats now?

I did a quick search on AA.com for "main cabin extra" and found "If you have an upcoming trip and want to add Main Cabin Extra, access your trip now through "My Trips" and select "change seats."

And I recall now (haven't had tea yet), I have done this before for DW directly on the AA site.

From AA.com: "If you have an upcoming trip and want to add Main Cabin Extra, access your trip now through "My Trips" and select "change seats."

I did it last year for DW directly from the AA site.
