AA announces a GREAT promo

Fly 2 R/Ts, non-stops between NYC to either Florida or California cities / OR between Boston to either Florida or California cities on any published fare and receive a free ticket to anywhere the OneWorld Alliance flies.
So for example, TPA-LGA has a fare now for $156 total for a non-stop R/T. Do 2 of these and for $312 you are a proud owner of a ticket to fly just about anywhere in the world. Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, South America, Central America, Caribbean, etc...etc...
The are restrictions(obviously). The major one is that the award ticket is in coach and not upgradable, and it comes from the same inventory as PlanAAhead coach tickets. So you may have to play with dates when turning in the award. Still a great promo.

This is in response to JetBlue arrival in Boston. I agree,a great deal. I wish I had an opportunity to take advavtage of it.

I forgot to mention that you have to register for the promo on AA.COM or by calling AA.
The promo codes are: AABOS and/or AANYC. You could register for both if needed for whatever reason and this is also true for folks in California and Florida doing the reverse.

So where are you going AAFrequentFlyer?

RachelG Jan 7th, 2004 01:27 PM

This is a great deal--unfortunately not anywhere near where I live, so it would cost so much to get to NYC or Boston to not be that worthwhile with the award tickets not being upgradable--too bad.

AAFrequentFlyer Jan 7th, 2004 06:30 PM

CORRECTION!!!!!!!!

I'm sorry, I got so excited, I misread the T&C.

The award ticket is only good on AA metal. So North America(Canada and Mexico), Japan, few countries in Europe, South America, Caribbean, Central America, and Bermuda.
Apologize for the mistake.

Does that include connections or only point to point routes? If I fly from SXM to JFK via MIA, would that be included in this promo?

TKay Jan 9th, 2004 11:41 PM

Statia,

Yes, SXM/MIA/JFK roudtrip would be included in the promo.

Statia Jan 10th, 2004 10:07 AM

Thanks, TKay. I'm doing that route in a few weeks, but haven't booked yet. I'll look into it.

It's times like this that I wished I lived nearer a major gateway city! Nice offer for those east-coasters though.

Out here in the sticks, we're just glad if we get off the ground eventually.

Be sure to read the airline rules on this. AA FFY you are sounding like a kid at Christmas! The real rules are fly nonstop on AA and not ALL cities in CA and FL are involved.

AAFrequentFlyer Jan 11th, 2004 08:11 AM

I believe I did say non-stops only in the original post :-). Also it has to be 2 R/Ts not just one. All the cities in Florida and California that have non-stops from NYC or Boston are involved.

From NYC area airports:
JFK to Miami
JFK to Long Beach
JFK to Los Angeles
JFK to Orange County
JFK to San Diego
JFK to San Francisco
JFK to San Jose
LaGuardia to Miami
LaGuardia to Fort Lauderdale
LaGuardia to Orlando
LaGuardia to West Palm Beach
LaGuardia to Tampa
Newark to Los Angeles
Newark to Miami

From Boston:
Los Angeles
San Diego (nonstop flights begin 3/2/04)
San Francisco
San Jose
Fort Lauderdale
Miami
Orlando
West Palm Beach

Looks like Delta is also matching the promo:

One major caveat, T class fares are excluded from the Delta promo.
