A lot of new terminals opening in 3/08

Maybe perhaps March is a relatively slow travel month? Such that they can get the issues ironed out before the busy summer season?

I know of these ones:

- PEK (Beijing Captial) Terminal 3
- LHR (London Heathrow) Terminal 5
- WAW (Warsaw) Terminal 2

Plus:

- CDG (Paris Charles de Gaulle) Terminal 2E reopening the collapsed half

And a brand new airport:

- HYD (Rajiv Gandhi Airport in Hyderabad, India)

Anything else?

I'm looking forward to the reopening of CDG 2E. The opening of S3 last year made it much easier for AF/Skyteam transits and the reopening of 2E should make it even better. However, the opening of 2G later this year seems like a minor step backwards in terms of transit friendliness.

rkkwan, I was at 2E recently and I was wondering which part had collapsed. That happened so long ago I didn't realize it hadn't reopened yet. I guess they want to get it right this time. Good info as always, thanks.

The collapsed part of CDG 2E reopened on Sunday.

AF from LAX will arrive at either the main part of 2E or S3. Where are you connecting to?

Hi Patty.....I fly LAX to Paris then transfer planes and fly to Casablanca.

All the flights that are direct only give 1.5 hours between flights, which made me nervous but there was no choice.

Im nervous already...for me AND my luggage!

Casablanca flights depart from 2F2 (the non-Schengen peninsula of 2F). If you arrive at S3, you can walk through the corridor that connects S3 to 2F, no passport control, just a security check at 2F. There's also a direct shuttle between S3 and 2F but I haven't taken it. It seems so easy just to walk.

If you arrive at 2E main terminal, you can take the airside shuttle (which means you don't have to go through passport control) but the shuttle goes clockwise and 2F is the farthest stop. An alternative is to clear passport control at 2E, walk across to 2F, and clear passport control again. Either way you'll need to clear security.

Should be doable in 1.5 hours. Here's a helpful website for AF transfers http://correspondances-aeroports.air...r/index_EN.php

You're welcome! It's not as complicated as it seems and will make sense once you're there. Having an understanding of the terminal layout will help. Have a great trip!

The problem is that half a year after the opening of the S3 satellite, neither ADP (the Paris airport authority) nor AF has posted any meaningful maps of the that satellite.

Or a simple guide for the CDGVAL people mover, or the other people mover for S3.

Unbelievable.

What do you mean by meaningful? The AF transfer site does show the location of S3 and list the gate numbers. It also shows the corridor between S3 and 2F and the LISA monorail between S3 and 2E. It doesn't show the CDGVAL as AF only uses E. I'm still waiting for the updated gate numbers with the re-opening of 2E though.

ADP never updated their map and neither has easycdg.com.

Patty - Thanks for the info about using the interactive guide for transfer on AF's site. Didn't have a chance to look at it before, but it's useful.
