2005 Business Travel Awards

Singapore Airlines got 5 awards. Surprising to me were these picks:

-- Best Airline for North American Travel: United Airlines

-- Airline with the Best Frequent Flyer Program: United Airlines

-- Best Airline Alliance: Star Alliance

The last pick, about *A, is not that surprising.

I'm not surprised. UA has a generous FF program. Full fare coach (used by business) get economy+ seating, and their p.s. service is best for transcontinental route in the front cabins.

But I wonder if they can avoid bankruptcy again in a few years as they still have pretty high cost structure and complicated and complex operation.

I would think that most of the E+ seats are filled by elites. Was looking at fares from LAX to JFK and can get p.s. for $297 all in. roundtrip.
