1 Hour Layover In Frankfurt
 

Hi everyone, I'm going to be flying from Johannesburg, South Africa to Munich, Germany with a 1 hour layover in Frankfurt. All flights are Lufthansa-- no code sharing. I also hold a British passport. I am worried about missing the flight though... What are your thoughts? Anything will be appreciated. Thanks

I wouldn't worry, if it was not a legal connection it would not be available for sale (assuming you booked as a connection and it's all on one ticket). If the flight in from JNB to FRA is late & you miss your booked connection, LH will put you on the next FRA/MUC flight.

Just went through FRA yesterday, from F class on Thai to F class on UA. I was so very glad we had ground crew from Thai Airways to get us from point A to point B without having to stand in the long long queue for immigration! We also needed to take a train to get to our Z gate.

I think you are cutting things pretty close, but then, I do not know how far apart your gates might be. If they are close together, then you will only have to wait in line for your passport check, and probably no need to take the train as well.

I always allow at least 2 hours in FRA...

I agree with Odin. There are flights FRA/MUC basically every hour. If you miss yours you'll be put on the next one. LH is good about that, and it'll be done before you get to the terminal.

Make sure you have the local LH tel # on your phone. If there are weather delays at FRA it can be a LONG wait at the service desk just to find out any info, so it's best to call not wait in line.

We had a very short layover in Frankfurt 2 years ago on our way to Tel Aviv. I think it was even less than an hour. But we were told it's the legal amount of time. We were delayed departing Houston, so we were late to Frankfurt. Luthansa had our connecting plane wait for us (and about 30 other passengers), met us at the gate, personally escorted us to the deaprture gate. They really took good care of us.

hey sean7097! Could you please share your experience with us here? I am going to Amsterdam and have a 1 hour layover at Frankfurt. Airline: Lufthansa. I hold an Indian passport. Almost everywhere they say, the time is too short. I am looking for more recent experiences. Any advice appreciated. Thanks!
