Hi, I live on Zanzibar for several years now and receive so many questions about any kind of topic. So I've put together information on the island from my perspective, knowledge and experiences made as a Zanzibar resident on www.zanzibarinsiderbuzz.wordpress.com

It covers general travelers questions, places to visit or go to (besides the usual places that are found on websites or guide books), what to do and not to do, stories and tales, caves, driving rules, fair trade outlets, you name it. It is far from complete, very much work in progress and I guess it will never be complete.

Thanks for the detailed info. I liked your comments on Jozani Forest National Park. Also your comments that discouraged the swimming with dolphin tours. Their practices are atrocious. Do you recommend any snorkeling excursions?

Thank you for sharing your info on Zanzibar. I know the island quite well, I've been there more than 10 times since the early 90's, I came back to Nairobi from ZNZ last week, where I've spent a week around on a Vespa with a friend. The "swim with the dolphins" experience in Kizimkazi should be forbidden. I was at Unguja Lodge in Kizimkazi 2 years back and I saw it with my eyes.

Agree with Atravelynn & Oliver,swim with the dolphins must be banned.Instead 'dolphin viewing',from a respectable distance, must be encouraged.I was naive,accepted the offer,only to be a witness to the harassment those lovely creatures had to endure.Little did I expect the boats out racing each other to get at them.I totally regret it,though,I didn't swim.Never again.
