What to do with 2 1/2 days in Arusha, TZ

We will have 2 1/2 days in Arusha before departing for our safari. So far, we have planned a 1/2 day at Arusha Park, 1/2 day to visit N'Grisi Village and a visit to another local village. I am seriously into photography and love markets for photos, shopping, cultural experiences, etc. My husband and I are taking our daughter and granddaughter (13). This is our second time there, but would love some ideas of other things to do in Arusha. I heard the Masai women's market burned to the ground.

Up to you how much you wish to include in your time as Arusha NP, but can sure take longer... many do a full day. And while N'gresi Village can be done in about 4/hrs. trying to fill the day with another village might be overkill.

Maybe do Arusha NP 1/day and villages/schools/orphanages as well other areas around Arusha Town on the next day. Your tour operator can offer options.

Thanks,Sandi. I think they planned Arusha NP and N'grisi for one day and the market at the other village for part of one day. In 2007 we walked around with a guide and walked to a place where I could photograph people taking wedding photos and to the Maasai Market. Wondering if Arusha has other interesting shopping areas?

We visited Shanga House- a workshop for handicapped people. They produce some lovely things and there is a gift shop where you can purchase items. As you walk around, you will see the items being made. George Clooney and Amal visited. I bought a lovely necklace and bracelet made of recycled glass and metal.

There is also a restaurant on the grounds where we had a nice lunch.
