We Leave Tomorrow

Finally, the big day is almost here. We actually leave home tomorrow afternoon. We'll spend the night at an airport hotel and begin the <i>real</i> journey Friday morning.Africa, here we come.

Thanks to all of you who encouraged me not to cancel the trip in June when I was overwhelmed with disappointment over my ACL tear and resulting surgery. You boosted my flagging morale and helped me find the inspiration to work hard, get well, and make the trip. Again, thank you so much.

We are so proud of your gumption to recover and go on your trip. You will not regret all your hard work. Your knee will handle it fine. Have a great trip.

We're packed, the house is clean, and we're ready to go. I can't believe the time has come.
