Top 10 things to see while in Cape Town?

Please list your recommendations on the top 10 things to do or see while staying in Cape Town.

We have very limited number of days to spend in Cape Town (maybe even only 2 days), so we definitely want to make sure we experience the things that are completely unique to Cape Town and what is not to be missed.

We are from NYC, so while we enjoy museums, we are not able to make time for any on this trip.

Thanks.

My recommendation is for you to do some reading on your own about Cape Town and then come back and ask better informed questions. You will receive better answers return.

I would say that the District 6 Museum is a must. I am not sure what being from NYC has to do with anything, as this museum has no link at all to any other, in NY or elsewhere. I am quite certain that Robben Island is unique to CapeTown as well, even though I did not visit since I did not obtain tickets in advance!

Agree that you need to do more reading!

Robben Island where Mandela was held prisoner was an outstanding visit. The comment on getting tickets in advance is necessary. I'd put that at #1 for uniqueness to Cape Town.

Table Mountain, which I did not do because the cable cars were not working. You can walk up, but did not have enough time to go on foot.

Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve

Kirstenbosch Gardens with the Fynbos plant Kingdom, unique to the area. These world class gardens are often ranked right after Butchart.

Your other thread asks about animals and I answered there.
