Tiger Fishing in Southern Africa

What are the best fishing camps in Botswana, Zimbabwe, and the Caprivi Strip (Namibia)? I've been to Guma Lagoon in the Okavango, but wish to try elsewhere. Nothing fancy, but one on or close to the water (no thirty minute boat or jeep rides to the fishing hole). Is there any place in Zambia that you can recommend?

I'd never been fishing before and haven't again since but we were offered the chance to fish at Little Vumbura Camp in June 2001 and my hub caught a bream.

We very much enjoyed it but a lot of that was down to the stunning location, the tranquility and the novelty of the experience.

Our guide enjoyed the bream for his dinner that evening - sadly we couldnt partake as we left the camp after that outing.

Lake Kariba is the most popular fishing spot in Zimbabwe.

I have no experience fishing but went tiger fishing in the lower Zambezi National park in Zambia. We went out onto the river from Sausage Tree and fished as the sun set. The fish were plentiful and quite large and it was all catch and release. I was surprised how much I enjoyed it!

Hope that helps!

Lake Kariba is one of my favourite places in Africa.

This is a great destination for tiger fishing.Organize a few friends,book a houseboat,and enjoy a trip of a lifetime!

That is to say if his Royal Highness Bob Mugabe doesn't close the Lake to overseas visitors!

I just returned from Zambia and please to say that the fish were bitting!!! My husband & I managed to catch several tiger fish (catch/release). I can't say enough about Sausage Tree Camp, Zambia. It's absolute paradise.

Why not consider Impalilia Island Lodge in Namibia. They collect you from Kasane ( which is a short drive from Livingstone or Victoria Falls ). I have had excellant Tiger Fishing and Bream Fishing there.
