scenic flight Okavango/Maun

Has anyone done a scenic flight round trip from Maun airport over the Delta, maybe an hour or so? If so, which charter company would you recommend and can you give an idea of cost? We won't be doing a fly-in to a lodge but would still like to see the area from the air.
Thanks

you could do a daytrip from maun to livingstone or vic falls!
in a 4 seater this trip costs around 600€.
but doing this means scenic flights over the delta, moremi and chobe to the falls. start early in the morning. visit the falls, have lunch and head back to maun.

if that suits your budget i could digg for the contact in maun and let you know.

oops - forgot something:
you even fly over the falls which saves you a heli flight which costs 190US$pp for 30 min! of course a tiny cessna is not a heli. but it's great anyway!

Does Pippa13 have the details of the contact in Maun for the flight mentioned previously? I'd be interested in that too plus any other contacts also for shorter flights over the Okavango.
Tockoloshe, did you get any more information you can share with us?

I have just found a company who advertises flights from Maun and Kasane:
www.moremiair.com
No prices on website, have written to them to get a quote.

tokoloshe,
there is no report on fodors!

christine (german) did a daytrip to livingstone as follows:

27 nov 07
maun-livingstone
went to the falls etc.

in the afternoon heike flew them (christine and husband) to baines camp, dropped them off and on 01 dec heike picked them up baines and flew them back to maun.

all that for 600€.

maybe when you contact heike you should point out that ride described above and ask for a similar good fare.

good luck and happy landings!

Does anybody care about the noise disturbing your otherwise calm mokoro trip. Helicopters are even worse!

I appreciate what you say, I hadn't really thought that through, but it will be our one indulgence so that we can see the area, we can't afford to go to the fly-in lodges, - will you give us this consolation??? We'll try and be very eco-friendly the rest of the time in our little tent!! (I wait with baited breath now to be told how un-eco-friendly camping is, ah well)

This forum is clearly becoming an area for advanced dyslexia I am now beginning to regret my decision to return to it.Even more so given the inexplicable deletion of entirely harmless threads.
