Safari with Africa Safari Leader?
Hi...has anyone had experience with Africa Safari Leader (africasafarileader.com)? We're looking for a combination Kenya/Tanzania safari and they seem to have good options, but I haven't been able to find anything out about them.
Would much appreciate any advice. Thanks!

I have never heard of them, but there have been a lot of recent terrible trip reports from travelers who relied on unknown operators. That's not to say Africa Safari Leader provides a subpar experience, but I would be extremely reluctant to rely on an unknown operator, especially when there are so many well known operators with excellent track records.

Thit-Chou: THANK YOU so much for your response!! I agree that there are lots of well-respected companies out there and that's probably a safer bet. Good advice! Just in case, if anyone else has used Africa Safari Leader and does have some feedback, I would be eager to hear it. And thank you again for your helpful insight!

Just googled African Safaris and stumbled across their website. They're based out of Florida, members of the ASTA, and have some pretty good itineraries at good prices, but other than that, I've not been able to find anything about them.

My experience is that go with the tested companies. I was the head of the South African Tourism Board for 6 years in New York and have seen people making wrong choices based on price. You do not want to take chances with your vacation. Call the Kenya or South African Tourism Board for advice.

bkimpepho06,
With your background, I'd love to read regular contributions from you. Hoping you'll tune in to this thread again, I've repeated something I posed on a different thread. Perhaps you could address this:
Here is one more question dealing with clout of an agent. Do you think the smaller boutique agents command the same respect for their clients on the ground as the bigger players?
Do you think that the camps are aware of who sends which guests and does that make any difference in their treatment such as which guides, which vehicle, how groups within the vehicles are formed? Or do you think each camp is just upholding its own reputation in the eyes of every guest regardless of how that guest got there?
Interested in your thoughts.
