Rwanda, Kenya, Tanzania - August 2010 - Photographs

It's been 5 weeks since we returned from our trip in Eastern Africa and I would like to thank the helpful people here at Fodors for their suggestions and tips. We spent 5 days in Rwanda, 8 days in Tanzania and 8 days in Kenya. We stayed in lodges and private campsites. We had two drivers/guides for several days, and self-drove on our own the rest. Of course it was wonderful and I hope I will write a detailed trip report later; right now I'm more motivated to plan the next African trip, in Namibia/Botswana But for the time being, here's a collection of photos from our trip: http://mysite.netone.gr/micmic/slide.html

Really enjoyed your photos, especially seeing roads I'll be travelling next June.

Your slide show is not really working for me. A picture partially downloads and then it skips to the next one, and does that again, again. Also, can you put up small thumbnails so I can just select certain ones to view big? FWIW, my browser is Firefox 3.6

Great photos. I especially loved seeing those in Rwanda. Where did you do the self-drive portion?

I just tried your photos again and working ok now. But again would prefer thumbnails. And why do you have big "nicnic" watermarked in the middle of each??

KathBC: I'm sure you will have a great time!

cary999: I will make it work with buttons since the way it is may cause problems with slow connections. I was just playing with watermarks

Leely2: We self-drove in Kenya (from Nairobi to Samburu, then to Nakuru and back to Nairobi). In Tanzania we had a driver but I was also driving in the parks. And then we self-drove alone again from Musoma/Tanzania, to Masai Mara (5 days self-driving in the Mara) and back to Nairobi)

Nice pics, but I agree with Cary that thumbnails would be much better. When you get to a picture you want to spend some time on to look at the details...it's tough noogies, b/c it keeps on rolling.

Then there are the pictures that may not be of interest to all (for me-the cultural pics of the kids) but you're kind of locked into watching all of them.

Good pics though, it's clear you guys had a wonderful trip.

You are right, it's just that I made a quick slideshow choosing hastily some photos and without even doing any kind of cropping, color processing, or even horizon straightening - I'm more into organizing the next trip than feeling nostalgic for the previous one

I now added previous/next buttons and will add thumbnails later.

Brilliant photos, I remember seeing that "80's hairdo lion" last year.

The gorillas did lots of climbing for you! Nice to see the sights of Samburu. I was at Simba too. Great to know you are organizing the next trip. Where?
