relaxing 2 weeks in Morroco

Family of four including two teens looking for relaxing 2 weeks in Morocco - don't need to see everything---a few good stops where we can really "dig in" and feel a part of things - definitely Marrakesh and Rabat but need beach time as well - any suggestions on the best way to enjoy and relax????

When might you be going ? Have a look at Oualidia and Asilah for beach time.

We loved the south and the Sahara was the best thing we did. Having said that I'm not sure about the heat in June.

Relaxing and Morocco aren't words that I would have connected, but I suppose if you really slow down...

I enjoyed Essaouira, which has a beach, or you could look further south arounf Agadir.

How do you know all that if you've never been there? How is it an answer to the OP's question?

What time of year? Our highlight was the time we spent touring the southern area south of the Atlas Mtns - the Draa Valley etc - including a night in the remote Erg Chegaga desert. Except for the long drive, I think teens would love this excursion. Truly off-road with no radio, no cell, just desert - with dunes - & lots & lots of stars. We also spent 4 nts/3 days in Essaouira with its large beach. While it was very calm & mid-70s (mid 20s C) while we were there, the locals all told us that it is often windy & a magnet for wind-surfers etc. We drove through a busy beach area north of Agadir but we didn't stop.

I'd sure support the recommendations for Assilah, Oualidia, and Essaouira (so take a look at El Jadida, too...) Why "definitely" Rabat? I'm with others who recommend the desert instead -- especially if you have teenagers! If you pick up on the suggestion to go down to Agadir, the drive through the Souss valley is also spectacular, and the road will take you through saffron and argan oil country -- teens should like the goats in the trees! Just make sure that if you're going in June, do the desert first, as it will get hotter and hotter as you go later and later into the summer. (I personally couldn't go into the desert in late June last year: daytime temperatures were mid-40's...)

Thursdaysd is absolutely correct. I didn't find much in Morocco that was relaxing. It's not a calm place.
