RE: Question for Hari
Greetings hWaWrWi:
Karibu! In regards to the post in the other thread, but, perhaps there is a link to a PIC some where I can peek at to verify my intuition?!
Of course hWaWrWi it is the Indian restaurants we head into Philly for to sate our dining pleasures!
Yes! Eagles!!!!! So close! My parents and sister live part time in Dallas and sent me an e-mail saying how they were so embarrassed about their Cowboys! Really! They whooped our @#$! for so many years I had no sympathy!
University -- Penn? I’m sorry, please refresh my memory on you area of expertise?

Den,
I hate the cowboys!!! They have stunk for years now......we have been so much better than them since atleast AR came to town in '99. The recent Christmas day game will stay in my mind....FOREVER!!!
Penn and Philadelphia university (used to be called, philadelphia college of textiles and sciences)....because, in the family business that is textiles related.....
will look for a pic!!!
Cheers,
Hari
PS: Dont think there are any good indian restaurants in Philly, really. Go to NYC. One of my fav restaurants in Philly is POD (Japanese). Been there? Is it still any good? Would love to eat some of that right now....

My mind is a blank at the moment but it will come to me. The 21st Century Philly does have a few good Indian restaurants I assure you!

Please tell I visit NYC often…

Den,
Dawat is good....mid town, manhattan (i think...)
Also, dont get the name of the restaurant, but the famous tv personality Madhur Jaffrey has a good restaurant....
There is a street food place for dosa (our south indian crepe). It is a guy who has a cart and makes these dosas.....my friends go there as they claim it is pretty authentic. Jeez, can get the name right now. Went one time, it was very good.....go there when the weather warms up. I dont think you want to eat messy street food outdoors in the cold weather.
Cheers,
Hari

Hari, my son goes to Wharton and we will be going there this coming Fri and having dinner at Pod (about our 3rd or 4th time in the last 2 years). It is still really good as are many of the other Steven Starr restaurants in Philly. Sorry to hijack the thread but if you give me you email I will send you some cheetah pix that you might like...despite the fact I am a Giants fan

ps Recommendations for Indian restaurants in the NY area are always welcome. We have a local Kashmiri restaurant near us that makes very interesting and unique food. The owner is a prominent biochemist who gave up his scientific work to better mankind in a more palateable (pun intended) way.
