rates for south african citizens

I'm just curious: which lodges offer South African citizens discounted rates? I know that Londolozi & (all CC africa lodges) does but that's only for short notice...usually to be booked less than one month before travel. I'm South African but have yet to benefit from any such discounts.

Many times Thompson's travel advertises excellent specials, only to see in fine print that it is for SA citizens only. I own property in SA but am not a citizen; hence, I'm not eligible. Check the website for southern African tourism update. Many times they feature specials, most of which are for South African citizens only.

The web address for the site I mentioned above is www.travelinfo.co.za. You can sign up and they email you every few days with interesting information about tourism in southern Africa.

You may want to see if you have an SA ID number from when you purchased your property. When I bought a landrover several years ago they gave me one. I managed to get SA prices with that. I use a different tack once in a while get Zim prices in VF. You would not believe the tier pricing differences.
Zim, SA and overseas.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll go through my paperwork. South Africa won't give me a contract cell phone without an ID number either so I'm stuck with pay-as-you-go which is much more expensive per call.

And, yes, I would believe the difference in tier pricing. It has been a thorn in my side for years.

To verify the SA number, I think there is a website someplace that lists SA citizens by ID number and reports whether or not you have a traffic violation and fine you may owe. Maybe someone from SA can verify that.

Shamwari offers a much lower price for South Africa residents. 1,550 per person per night out of season.

I am from the U.K. and have been in South Africa for 10 years and now have permanent residence but don’t have an SA identification number.

Once you have permanent residence you can then apply for an ID.

I have no problem and just use my passport number for all the forms.

SADC rates are not only for SA citizens.
If you are residing in the SADC Countries, and have valid permits you can get the rates.
Even in Botswana we get SADC rates.
Just ask for them.A lot of places dont advertise them but offer them.
We got some on Chiefs Island at Delta camp
and oddballs
