Thanks for sharing photos of a place that most of us will never see. It's wonderful that you showed the diversity of such a beautiful country. Your pictures, as usual are very well done.

Yes, still in Congo. Climbed the Nyiragongo volcano recently, it was great. Went to Uganda and Rwanda also int he last couple of months, it was very nice too. This summer, we shall go to Rajasthan, India. Needless to say we look forward to it. In the meantime, we enjoy the dry season in Goma.

Travels are both for work and leisure.
My job is to provide funds to international NGOs for relief operations in Congo. My wife works for the Jane Godall Institute, for preservation of chimpanzees in Eastern Congo. We both work in Goma. Last year we were in Indonesia dealing with the Tsunami and in Sudan the year before that for the crisis in Darfur.
So humanitarian and preservation activities are what drive us those days.

well, i guess that with the current events, there shall not be much people interested in going to Lebanon.
Once all of this is over, please come and spend your tourist money in this beautiful country. People will need it.

I just came back from Lebanon where I spent Xmas. Though the political situaion remain tense, it's perfecty safe to travel.
Highlights include the beautiful city of Byblos, the souqs of Saida and Tripoli, the white washed streets of Tyr, enjoy nature in Kadisha Valley and the reserves in the Chouf. Jezzine and its surroundings are very nice. Baalbek temple is very impressive and the archeological site of Anjar also is worth the visit.
Last but not least, Beirut has it all for those keen on bars and clubs.
