New Fodors -- Quotes
I saw the new Fodors guide to South Africa yesterday, and I don't want to ruin the suspense, but the title page for each chapter contains a quote from a Fodorite (some recognizable to me, and some less familiar, at least to me). I just saw a post from welltraveledbrit, who does have a quote, and that's what triggered this post.

You know what Fodors should really do - bearing in mind they are guaranteed non exclusive rights to material within this forum site...
A Safari experiences book compiling all the trip reports: each one giving full recognition to the author etc and send a 1st edition copy of each one to the contributing authors. With the amount of interest shown in safari trips this would sell like hot cakes. Put me down for one please.

Thanks Micheal,
I'll have to run out and look at it! My husband will die laughing he hates my screen name and things it's dreadful...his favourite potential name for himself is lesstravelledgit
You'd think they's be able to put out an entire volume of Roccco's favourite hits

Fodor's South Africa, 3rd Edition
Trade Paperback | 688 pages | 1-4000-1366-6 | 978-1-4000-1366-1
Travel - Africa | September 2005 | $24.95
It may be that I am late to the 3rd Edition, not early to the 4th, but we finally received the 3rd Edition in my local Manhattan Barnes & Noble, and that's where I saw the quotes.
I am leaving a week from tomorrow, and will post my itinerary tomorrow (I think I am hitting two places, Lesotho and Kgalagadi, that haven't been on any itineraries that have been posted recently, and another, Hluhluwe, that's a rarity, like the pangolin). 8 days to go!

Kavey, while I like Fodor's forum, as for travel guides, I prefer LP, so while I browsed the Fodor's guide, I didn't pick it up, so I can't post the quotes. I am leaving for Africa on Wednesday, so I don't think I'll get to Barnes & Noble before then.
