Namibia guided tour

I am looking for a 10-14 day guided safari in Namibia and am considering one of two tour operators: CC Africa or Wilderness Safaris.

Has anyone had experience with either of these operators? I would appreciate any advice! Thanks!

Hi London,
As I understand it, Wilderness Safaris doesn't deal directly with clients but you can book any of their tours thru' an agency such as CCAfrica.

From what I've read on this board, the WS tours seem to be well done, and CCAfrica seems to be a reputable agency.

I'm taking the WS Great Namibian Journey in May. I booked thru' go2Africa and have been pleased with the service.

Thanks for the feedback. I am trying to choose between WS' Great Namibian Journey and CC Africa's Andersson's Africa. The itineraries look similar though it seems that WS doesnt go to Okonjima and CC doesnt do the Skeleton Coast Camp.

The Skeleton Coast Camp was a priority for me, as were the Sossusvlei sand dunes, which is why the Great Namibian Journey works for me.
If you prefer the CCAfrica tour, I'm pretty certain you can find an add on just to the Skeleton Coast Camp. WS might even offer it, but any agent can give you more info. I'm sure I came across it in my research.

londonmlle,

We stayed at a number of Wilderness properties, among others in '03, on our first trip to Africa and were very pleased with their camps etc. Most of our time was spent in Botswana with a small portion in Namibia at the Sossusvlei Wilderness Camp. This was not a set tour as we chose our own itinerary and various camps and went from there.

We are returning to Namibia this year and again put together our own itinerary but had an agent do the bookings. We again will stay at a number of WS properties as we know they are of high quality and well run, so I would have no hesitation in recommending them for a trip.

This time around we will do a 2 1/2 week self drive through Etosha, Damaraland and Sossusvlei and finish off with a week long fly in portion to the Skeleton Coast Camp and ending in Serra Cafema Camp in the far north. Should be an exciting trip.

Good luck with your planning.

Both tours seems nice. I haven't made use of the services of CC Africa yet so I can't tell you anything about them.

I have travelled with Wilderness Safaris extensively and they provide an excellent service.

I don't know which your main intrest is when visiting Namibia and what time of year you are planning to go.

So as soon as I know more about your intrests, I can give you my opinion.

Greetings,

Johan
