My experience in Rwanda - reposting
Reposting this for those planning a trip this summer. This was originally posted back in August of 2007
==================================
I just returned from 8 days in Rwanda where I went gorilla trekking, golden monkey trekking, and to Nyungwe National Park. I've posted my photos and thoughts on how to ensure you have the best trip possible. www.shahkala.com/rwanda.shtml
Feel free to ask me any questions while its still fresh in my mind. Rwanda and the gorilla trekking are fantastic and I can't recommend it more highly.

I knew I had seen your name, Gshah18 before. You responded to the wildlife in Asia post I made.
Thanks for the link. The photos you chose were beautiful and touching, in the case of the memorial.
I cannot imagine feeling that gorilla's breath on your face. How lucky you encountered another group of gorillas on your non-gorilla walk. Your chimp experience in Nyungwe seems to be typical. Glad you got to see them, at least.
I bet you have more wildlife trips on your travel agenda.

Your images look fantastic - and how nice to see images of Africa used in this way - great concept and congratulations to you for winning such a great contract!

Oops - sorry - I posted my reply (above) on the wrong thread! Now, onto the right track: I loved seeing your gorilla photos. I saw the gorillas in Rwanda in 1988, and what an incredible experience it was - something I will never forget. Thanks for sharing your photos...

Hi Elizabeth S
I used Access Rwanda. The proprietor's name is Ossy.
Web site: www.access-rwanda-safaris.com
Email: [email protected]
Very responsive when not out on tour, which is what gave me confidence in working with them.
One thing is that he went around with me personally, so I don't know the quality of his drivers/guides.

So very much enjoyed your fabulous photos. First trip to Africa in Oct. to Tanzania and Rwanda for gorilla trek. Am trying to get motivated to do some walking for the hike and reading your tips has made me realize I better start now or they'll suggest I stay at the hotel!! We'll be staying at Gorillas Nest which I read here was sold redently. Martha, my contact at Rwanda Eco Tours, has reassured me our reservations are fine, that they are fixing up the place and should be lovely when we arrive. Am just about finished reading We Wish To Inform You That Tomorrow We Shall Be Killed With Our Families, so unbelievable. What a species we are! Thanks for the report, the photos,and the tips!
