most luxurious safari lodge in Africa
If you were not all that interested in the game but more interested in the seclusion, luxurious accomodation & food and the best service which lodge would you choose.

Most of the usual suspects (Singita, etc) are luxurious with all the pampering one would expect. However, these are hardly exclusive anymore and most are not secluded (think Crater Lodge).
I vote for Sasakwa & Sabora Plains in Tanzania. There you get seclusion, romantic old-style luxury, exclusivity, and service. And best of all? You'd be one of the first to enjoy these new properties!

It would have been very kind of you to have waited about four more weeks before posting links to those new Serengeti camps, but nooooo, you just couldn't keep it under your hat for a few more weeks! Just when I thought I had booked the best available camps in Tanzania, I have to see this?

Totally reminds me of home, except I choose to use a coffee table rather than an old trunk.
Are either of these two luxury camps in the Seronera area? I don't think ATR would look too kindly on cancelling a Nomad Camp, but maybe they wouldn't mind so much if I were to trade my two nights at Mbuzi Mawe for two nights at one of these camps.
In best gangster voice...I keep trying to get out but they keep pulling me back in!!!
I am still about six weeks out from Mbuzi Mawe. This is going to be nasty. Time to write ATR.

Well, probably fortunately for me, each of the two camps mentioned by Eben appear to be in the wrong part of the park for March. Not that Mbuzi Mawe is in the best part of the park for March, but at least Mbuzi Mawe is not far from Seronera.
Anybody have a website for either of the two camps mentioned by Eben?

bat, well I looked at the Gruemti Reserves website: wow. For me that's just over the top and I don't think even had I the $ that's the kind of environment I'd want. Just not my speed. Hemingway, Roosevelt--um, should I pack my gun? 
But luckily we all have different tastes, so it's nice that there are now some more luxurious options in/adjacent to the Serengeti for those who really enjoy them.

I have been to Singita and enjoyed it very much. But on our recent trip, I was especially taken with Jao in the Okavango Delta. Jao has:
- incredibly secluded location in the Delta
- gorgeous architecture and "tented" accomodations so you are surrounded by luxury but still feel like you are in Africa
- outstanding food and incredibly friendly over-the-top service (they suggest things before you ask for them)
- varied non-safari activities like boating, fishing, wonderful spa treatments...
- the most amazingly romantic bird and frog sounds each morning
