lhr - tlv, British Airways or El Al?

I'm doing a layover in London on my way to and from Israel in March, and am trying to decide between flying BA or El Al. BA is about $70 cheaper, but El Al has an afternoon flight out of London, so I wouldn't need to get to Heathrow at the crack of dawn.

Any recommendations?

Thanks.

Jim

Just to get the full picture before answering- where are you going from LHR? to NYC or other destination?

BA's 767 is pretty comfortable, don't know what equipment El Al uses. We prefer the morning service on BA to El Al, plus we prefer arriving in the afternoon in time to settle into the hotel, but YMMV. Plus we use Priceline for a cheap hotel near LHR so the morning isn't so rough.

What are the flight options on the return from Israel? You may have an extra layover in London on your flight home.
The BA planes are more comfortable than EL AL. The extra security on EL AL makes me more comfortable these days. We just returned from Israel on Monday.
