Rocco, great report.
You and I must be the only ones awake (you because its 1:30 in LA, and me because I'm checking work e-mails at 11:30 am in Crete).
Where's your mammoth trip report? How was Sydney (did you get to the zoo or Rockpool)?
Happy new year.
Michael

Hi Michael,
Unfortunately, I did not make it to the zoo...too tired after not sleeping a wink on the flight from JNB - SYD.
The first night I did see an EXCELLENT theater production of Priscilla, Queen Of The Desert...hopefully it will come to the USA as I would love to see it again and take friends to see it.
The next day I did the Bridge Climb...overrated and overpriced in my opinion but it did offer some great views. By the time it was over, it was already nearly 9PM on a Sunday night and I was not dressed to go anywhere decent so ended up eating bad Chinese food (it did have Conde Nast Traveler awards and other awards, however, and everyone else seemed to enjoy it).
Still, Sydney is a fantastic city and I am sure if planned correctly I would have an even better time and see a lot more...oh, it was also raining on my second (and only) full day there, so that is why I did not take a cruise anywhere.
The Observatory Hotel was very nice but I would have liked being somewhere more central to restaurants and shopping.
Trip report and photos should be coming in the next couple weeks...I am in the middle of a bad cold right now (which is exactly why I should NOT be up at 2:45AM!).
Enjoy Crete...wish I was there!
(also, would you mind e-mailing me, I used to have your address but I have misplaced it...thanks)
