Just back from Botswana June 2012

Traveled with Kwando Safaris and stayed at Lagoon and Little Kwara. Fantastic sitings...Cheetahs, Lions and wild Dogs (my favorite). Ma-hale at Lagoon is focused on what you want to see and makes sure you see it. He and James are the most exciting guides I have had and their "running with the dogs" was something I will never forget!
In Little Kwara we were most fotunate to have Leso, the actual manager of the camp, has our guide. He had so much knowledge about EVERYTHING and was a fantastic teacher. He also found the dogs for us and "ran with the dogs". Leso is a eco friendly and very conservation saving trained and focused. It was refreshing to have two guides that were so passionate about Botswana and informative.

This was our third trip to Africa. Our first two were to Zambia which were also exceptional. Much more dense amount of animals...no dogs or cheetahs, but many more vehicles. The Zambizi River is very beautiful but the bush is much more dense which makes it harder to view animals. Both trips were great though. We chose Botswana particularly to see the cheetahs and dogs. The animals are not as dense but the sitings were still plentiful and we did see the dogs and cheetahs. We chose Kwando Safaris and were very pleased with the lodging, food and care. We spent four days at Lagoon and five days at Little Kwara. We do not like to move often as so much time is spent traveling and it makes the guides have to rush so you see as much as you can quickly. It is thru patience and time that the really good stuff happens.

Nice you saw dogs and cheetah. Zambia and Botswana are some wonderful and diverse destinations. Lucky you with 3 trips to these spots.

I too would prefer running with the dogs to running with the bulls (which is happening now.

Glad you had a wonderful time - Did you get to see the cheetahs at both Lagoon and LK? When time permits, would love to see some pics ........ Thanks a lot!

If you really like Cheetahs, there are some great sightings to be had in the Masai Mara.
