Only 5 days to do both? I don't think you'll see much of either, but if you can give 2-1/2 days to Egypt, you can see the best of Luxor in one of those days. Go non stop and see at least Valley of the Kings and Karnak Temple. In Cairo see as many pyramsids as you can (more than just Giza if possible, the Museum and something of Islamic Cairo (the Citadel, the Khan el Khalili, and anything else you can fit in)
Good luck.

We have only been to Cairo in Egypt so I guess my view didn't count. It would be a toss up to me. Both wonderful countries to visit.

@ hi sandi: thanks

@colduphere: hehehe nice. actually you're right both of them are good. But my worry in Jordan is there's a hostage for some filipinos there in the boundary of Jordan and Syrian. This was not the Jordanian people but the syrian. anyway I'm planning it well.

perhaps I can find a travel buddy.

Thanks
